“The European states are even willing, with no shame, to participate in the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ being hosted this May by the Jewish occupying entity on land it stole from the people of Palestine”

Hizb ut-Tahrir Media Office reports: The European states are even willing, with no shame, to participate in the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ being hosted this May by the Jewish occupying entity on land it stole from the people of Palestine, ignoring its massacres against innocents! And how much more are we willing to tolerate of the political games played out upon our lands by the states of the world as they jostle for power and influence, sacrificing the lives of the Muslims in the process of satisfying their greed for the resources and wealth of the Muslim world….before we say…Enough is Enough?!!!

Israel is hosting this year’s Eurovision song contest, and millions across the world are watching the semi-finals this week, before the grand final on Saturday. Angry that Israel is hosting one of Europe’s most important cultural celebrations, Abbas’ Fatah Movement has been calling for a boycott of the event. Knowing the world’s sensitivity to images of dead children, Fatah presented the libellous cartoon above of a microphone made of a rifle, and with bullets and a Palestinian child shot dead, lying in a pool of blood, as if the child had been intentionally murdered by Israel, under the hashtag #BoycottEurovision2019. Similarly, the official Palestinian Authority daily printed this cartoon of the word “Eurovision” with a Palestinian boy being hung from a treble clef that replaces the “v” in “Eurovision.”

Palestinians plan Eurovision alternative with Globalvision

Gulf News (UAE) reports: Ramallah – Israel hosts the Eurovision song contest this week and the thousands of visitors who come with it, but Palestinians are planning an alternative they hope draws attention to the country’s occupation. The alternative to Eurovision, called “Globalvision”, will be held on Saturday, the same day of the song contest’s finals in Tel Aviv. Pro-Palestinian campaigners say the idea for it came from the fact that they don’t want to simply oppose the Israeli event but host a positive alternative. Globalvision parties are expected in London, Dublin, the Palestinian city of Ramallah and Haifa. No European TV channels are expected to feature the events but they will be streamed online, with organisers encouraging people to tune in instead of watching Eurovision. Among those expected to take part is influential British musician and producer Brian Eno, along with prominent Palestinian musicians. The event in Haifa will feature performers who will fulfil the desire for the famed Eurovision kitsch, said Najwan Berekdar, one of the organisers.

Palestinian Territories: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Israeli occupation exploits the “Eurovision” to consolidate its colonialism.

The Palestinian News Network (PNN) reports: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates sent several letters calling on the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to withdraw any promotional materials for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, filmed in the occupied city of Jerusalem, to demonstrate respect for the rights of the Palestinian people and international law. The Ministry also called on the EBU not to allow Israel, the Occupying Power, to exploit this global event to conceal the colonial reality in Palestine or cover up its practices of discrimination and persecution against the Palestinian people. “The EBU has the power to influence global public opinion, and Israel, the Occupying Power, is exploiting that by using the contest to entrench its colonial occupation by effectively normalizing the global acceptance of its unlawful conduct. The promotional material published in the context of the Eurovision contest and approved by EBU, is unacceptable due to the cultural role it plays in normalizing occupation in the European and worldwide public opinion,” the letters stated.

Report: Al-Qaida-Linked Charities Funded Canadian Organization, Quran Competition

IPT reports: A Toronto-area mosque received funding from a Kuwaiti charity blacklisted by the U.S. Treasury and the United Nations, the Kharon Brief found. The Kharon Brief describes itself as an open-source intelligence group headed by former senior officials from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis, Office of Foreign Assets Control, and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.  The Revival of Islamic Heritage Society (RIHS), which the United Nations notes funded Osama bin Laden, gave an undetermined amount of money to the North York, Ontario-based Abu Huraira Center. Dutch Struggle to Rein In State-Funded Salafist School

IPT reports: There are two Islamic middle schools in the Netherlands. One of them has terror ties. This, at least, was the conclusion of the Dutch intelligence and counterterrorism agencies in March, as described in a confidential letter to Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema. Based on an anonymous tip from a moderate Muslim group, the agencies warned that the city’s Cornelius Haga Lyceum had “anti-democratic,” Salafist leanings. Moreover, the agencies alleged, the school’s directors had connections with the Caucasus Emirate, a Chechen jihadist group with ties to the Islamic State.
