“Hate and intolerance are the catalysts for the destruction of a family, of a culture, and a nation.”
–Werner Gellert, co-founder, Holocaust & Intolerance Museum of New Mexico.
AUGUST 17, 2010 – Calling it a “virtual cesspool of antisemitism,” the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) recently condemned an Iranian website dedicated to Holocaust denial.
The “HoloCartoon” website purports to offer a historical narrative of events occurring before, during and after World War II. Instead, it is rife with antisemitic imagery, Jewish conspiracy theories, Holocaust denial and factual inaccuracies. “HoloCartoon is a pernicious Web site replete with vicious antisemitism and caricatures of Jews fabricating the Holocaust story to advance their goals, and depictions of Jews as murderers and manipulative money worshippers,” said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director and a Holocaust survivor. “Its pseudo-history makes a mockery of the Holocaust and the site is little more than a virtual cesspool of antisemitism.”
What does it take for Jews, Christians and Muslims to stand up as one and be counted and to vigorously express themselves against the perpetrators of these hideous crimes, in a way that goes to the very core of all hate and intolerance? Take notice! This year, on Friday, September 17, 2010, the day before Yom Kippur, has been designated the day that we all have a duty to clearly make the perpetrators of Holocaust denial, antisemitism, hate and intolerance understand enough is enough! They have to be held accountable for their actions.
