Happy Anniversary Israel
May 8, 2008 – I think most of us, at one time or another, have been upset at not being invited to a party. So, it should come as no surprise to hear what Iran’s 13-per-cent-of-my-population-are-illiterate-favourite-attention-seeking-son had to say about Israel’s 60th anniversary. Yes, I’m talking about President Ahmadinejad.
“Those who think they can revive the stinking corpse of the usurping and fake Israeli regime by throwing a birthday party are seriously mistaken,” Ahmadinejad was quoted today as saying by the official IRNA news agency.
“Today the reason for the Zionist regime’s existence is questioned, and this regime is on its way to annihilation,” he said.
Ahmadinejad added that Israel “has reached the end like a dead rat after being slapped by the Lebanese (Hezbollah).”
Ahmadinejad also received support, although a little more eloquent, from Ayman El-Amir, the former Al-Ahram correspondent in Washington, DC., who also served as director of United Nations Radio and Television in New York.
In last week’s edition of Egypt’s Al-Ahram, El-Amir wrote about “Sinkable Israel.” He said:
“While on the surface it appears invincible, Israel lies exposed in its behaviour as a racist, belligerent, arrogant and colonial pariah. It only believes in the force of arms — the ability to subjugate by destruction. That is what the Nazis did to the Jews and other minorities in Europe; and that is what the Jews of Israel are doing to the Palestinians. What Israel and the Western alliance call “acts of terrorism” by fundamentalists are the same acts they cheered as heroic by the resistance to Nazi occupation in Europe.”
As the late President Johnson once said to President George Bush, “If there’s a choice between chicken salad and chicken shit, I’ll take the chicken salad every time.”
Happy Anniversary Israel.
